New Grand Marais Farmers Market Food Program for Seniors
Summer brings all kinds of fresh produce to the Grand Marais Farmers Market! As we age, healthy eating can make a difference in our health, help to improve how we feel, and encourage a sense of well-being. And sometimes, consuming healthy foods on a fixed or limited income or budget can be a challenge.
Visit the Grand Marais Farmers Market and sign up for the PoP Plus! “Power Of Produce” club, a new program for seniors aged 65 or over, and get $5 each week in tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables! Use your Power of Produce tokens to purchase produce like green beans, carrots, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, apples, and any other fresh fruits or vegetables our local growers bring to the market.
Below are qualifying income requirements for seniors to join PopPlus!:
The Grand Marais Farmer’s Market takes place every Thursday from 4:30-6pm at the Cook County Community Center through October 10, 2024.
For more information or if you have any questions feel free to contact Community Center Assistant Anna Klobuchar at (218) 387-3015 or anna.klobuchar@co.cook.mn.us.
