Care Partners Welcomes New Executive Director

Care Partners of Cook County is pleased to welcome Julie Wilson as their new Executive Director. Julie brings enthusiasm for and experience in supporting older adults and their families. She has a Masters degree in Social Work with a focus in Health, Disability and Aging as well as a Gerontology Certification through the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Julie has worked as a social worker in a nursing home and in home care, and has run a small company overseeing assisted living and senior housing. She currently serves on the Minnesota Gerontological Society Board.

Julie is very familiar with life in rural Minnesota, having grown up on a farm north of Detroit Lakes. She and her husband Paul purchased property just outside of Grand Marais and will be transitioning here from the Twin Cities over the next couple of years as they build their home. Julie enjoys the outdoors, good coffee, and good conversation. “I love the welcoming spirit of Cook County,” she says, “and feel blessed as we lean into our future in this community.”
