Cook County Extension offers Free Workshops

Cook County Extension will offer a series of free workshops at Cook County Higher Education and the Grand Portage Community Center on August 31st and September 1st.

Sessions offered at Cook County Higher Education require pre-registration and may be attended in person or online via Zoom. No registration is needed for the Grand Portage workshops which will be offered in person only.

“Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?” offers a range of research-informed resources to help address common decision-making challenges surrounding the inheritance of personal property.

“Advance Care Planning” walks through the steps to prepare or update a Minnesota Health Care Directive. This workshop will be presented at Cook County Higher Education only.

“When It’s Family: Financial Exploitation of Older Adults” shares the facts about this prevalent and fast-growing type of elder abuse, and the important lessons learned from those who have experienced it.

All workshops are offered at no cost by Cook County Extension in partnership with Cook County Higher Ed and the Grand Portage Elder Program, and will be facilitated by Sam Roth, UMN Extension Financial Capability Educator for Scott & Carver counties.
