Farmers Market is Back with The Power of Produce!
Summer brings all kinds of fresh produce to the Grand Marais Farmers Market! As we age, healthy eating can make a difference in our health, help to improve how we feel, and encourage a sense of well-being. And sometimes, consuming healthy foods on a fixed or limited income or budget can be a challenge.
The Power of Produce program is sponsored by the Oral Health Task Force and Empty Bowls. This program is for kids ages 4-12 and income-eligible seniors ages 65+. Kids ages 4-12 can visit the welcome booth with a parent or guardian at the Market to sign up. Seniors visit the welcome booth to sign up as well. Club members receive five tokens each week to spend on any produce items at the Market. Club members may spend all of their tokens each week or save them for a later market in the same year.
The Grand Marais Farmer’s Market is open June through the end of October on Thursdays from 4:30 – 6pm in the Cook County Community Center parking lot (317 W 5th St, Grand Marais.)
