The Hub/Legal Aid Kiosks

  • On-site computers from Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota provide private access to legal assistance
  • Can be used by anyone
  • May be used to apply for civil legal aid services, access legal resources, contact a legal aid provider, and in some cases, attend online meetings and remote court hearings
  • Kiosks are located at the Hub/Cook County Senior Center

  • Civil and criminal representation to the Indian population and low-income individuals throughout the five-county region and four Indian Reservations in Northeastern Minnesota.

  • Provides support, information and resources to older and vulnerable adults and their loved ones around issues of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation.

Private Attorney Involvement Program

(Formerly Volunteer Attorney Program)

  • Attorneys provide pro bono services through Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota (LASNEM)
  • Cannot help with a criminal charge or a traffic ticket
  • Must apply for assistance through LASNEM

Senior Citizens’ Law Project

  • Program of the Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota for people 60 years old or older
  • Efforts are focused on those with the most social and economic need, but otherwise no income or asset eligibility guidelines
  • No charge for services, but voluntary donations accepted
  • Clients must cover litigation costs such as court filing fees, service fees, and recording fees (fees may be waived by the court if the client can’t afford them)
  • Most issues handled by phone, but it may be possible to meet in Legal Aid Duluth offices, in Cook County during remote office hours, and/or in homes if needed.
