Care Partners Companion Volunteers

• Trained, background-checked volunteers connect with older adults to touch base, share friendly visits or provide respite for caregivers
• Companions often meet weekly but are free to determine frequency and timing that works for them
• Arrangements can be made to chat by phone, meet in clients’ homes, or enjoy walks or outings together

• No applications, sign-up or commitment required
• Private and confidential – share only your first name

Cook County Higher Education

• Provides education, training, access, and support through online and in-person classes and workshops
• Participation fees vary by event (some events are free)
• Scholarships may be available to cover all or part of class fees
• CCHE provides low-cost, refurbished laptops available for purchase with no income requirements
• Laptop scholarships and payment plans are available

Grand Portage Community Center

• Center is open from 8am – 7pm, Monday-Friday (if arriving prior to 10:30am please enter through ENP doors)
• Drop-in and scheduled activities

The Hub/Cook County Senior Center

• Drop-in and scheduled activities including crafts, games, support groups, meals, and exercise for older adults
• Community information and help finding local resources
