As part of their 2024 theme of Art + Embodiment, the Grand Marais Art Colony is collaborating with Care Partners of Cook County to explore the Art of Health through the lens of Memory Care.
This experiential-based hands on workshop invites any area practitioners working in healthcare and caregiving spaces to explore personal resilience and strength. Whether you are a social worker, a physician, a therapist, or working in physical or occupational therapy, this session is for you. CEUs are available. During this workshop Special instructor Erin Rafferty-Bugher will employ creative and artistic engagement, a trauma-informed approach used to mitigate the common impact of burnout and secondary trauma. Creativity provides a safe and supportive resource for sustaining and maintaining practitioner’s overall health and wellbeing. Exploring the metaphor connected to resiliency, participants will create their own 3-dimensional tree of strength. No artistic skills required, the session is designed to be successful for all experience levels. Art materials and creative tools and resources for sustaining overall health and wellness will be provided. This session is free but advanced registration is requested.
